All hotels and apartments need to be prepared for the new changes which came in to effect on May 25th 2018, this concerns the use 'personal data' being held within the Fokus Hotel Software.
To help our Fokus Hotel software clients, we have introduced some features and have adapted existing features to help assist with compliance rules.

Marketing Opt In
Staff can now set marketing preferences, either at time of booking, check in or at check out, it is recommended that guests are asked if they would like to 'Opt In' for marketing purposes on the guest registration form.
A guest can also request that their details are not stored in Fokus after departure.
History Data Removal
Fokus can now be configured to remove guest history records after a certain time has elapsed, this was set at 5 years, but can now be configured to be either 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years
Invoice Archive History
Fokus can be configured to delete invoice archive records after 7 years, this will not affect any financial reports, these can go back as far as the client has been using Fokus.
As Fokus is installed on a client's own computer network, each client should ensure that there computer system or network has adequate security measures in place. Sensative data, such as card details are stored encrypted as standard within our system software.
